RORY O'GRADY, sasc

Cinematographer

Rory grew up on a farm in the picturesque Highlands Meander of South Africa, inspiring him to see beauty wherever he goes.

His earliest and fondest memories of cinema were watching cowboy movies with his father and brothers.

He studied Cinematography in Johannesburg and graduated in 2005 from AFDA, one of the leading outcomes-based film schools in the world.

Since then, he has worked as a DOP across Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America.

Rory is a fan of preparation and planning, he is also open to venturing into the unknown, exploring ideas, and extending his reach. For him, meaning comes from feeling, looking beyond the frame to capture the humanity within.

Making stories that change hearts and minds is what he enjoys most.

In his downtime, Rory enjoys kitesurfing with friends, having a beer around a fire and chasing after those elusive hole-in-ones.
